DATA INTO ACTION APPOINTS LINDA MORATA PROSKE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF ITS TECHNOLOGY AND THE ARTS PRACTICE

Fullerton, Calif., October 1999 - - Data In Action, an innovative Southern California-based computer systems integrator and decision-support consulting group, has just appointed Linda Morata Proske as the executive director of its newly launched Technology And The Arts Practice. This new business unit is dedicated to providing progressive tools that facilitate connection and support the arts as a venue for self-expression, communication, innovation and understanding.

No stranger to the performing arts, Morata Proske has been a theatre faculty member at Cal State Fullerton, and head of the dance faculty at Cawthra Park Performing Arts High School in Toronto, Canada. Prior to joining Data In Action on October 4, 1999, she worked as national account executive, and director of projects and program management, for Outbound Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Tanknology, Inc. There, she managed a number of projects and designed systems solutions for the company's diverse roster of clients.

"Being able to combine my skills as a project manager with my passion for the performing arts, is a dream come true," says Morata Proske. "The Technology And The Arts Practice offers me an opportunity to be involved with a myriad of initiatives that provide support for the performing arts. Working with this uniquely visionary group of people, I am confident that we will make a substantial contribution to the success of the ventures in which we are investing our time, talent, and resources."

The limited penetration of sophisticated technology into the often- undercapitalized artistic community has been an impediment to its growth and profitability. To meet this need, Data In Action has already developed several unique products and services including Show Pro, an out-of-the-box, box-office software, which is an advanced program for order taking and ticketing for theatres. This software is unique in its ability to track trends and supply information that is vital for both marketing and financial analysis. Show Pro is currently being offered to member theatres of the National Alliance of Musical Theatres.

Additionally, Data In Action has designed and maintained a non-profit web site called cabaret.org, which provides up-to-date information for cabaret artists, theatre-buffs, and venues. Recently acquiring Cabaret Hotline Online, a New York-based hub for cabaret and club news, cabaret.org combines Data In Action's techno-savvy with the industry knowledge and professional network of Cabaret Hotline Online, to become the premier site linking performers, venues and cabaret lovers around the world.

Data In Action has also been a primary sponsor of a new high school performing arts program called Team Cabaret. Beginning with a pilot project at Fullerton Union High School Academy of the Arts, this program develops performing arts skills, leadership, and teamwork, by teaching students to choose song material, study interpretation, speak extemporaneously, and develop an act with fellow participants.

As executive director of the Technology In the Arts Practice, Morata-Proske's responsibilities include the refinement of its vision and the development and execution of strategic initiatives that can harness technology for the advancement of communication and cooperation in the global community.
